Destroyer Destroyed 411
The USS Anderson (DD-411) was a Simms class destroyer that saw action in both the Atlantic and Pacific during World War II. After the war she was assigned to Operation Crossroads in Bikini Atoll. On July 1, 1946, she was sunk when the atomic bomb Gilda detonated 600 yards from her position. The Anderson now rests at depth of around 50m. In this image, my buddy is exploring the wreckage of the bridge.
